Real Life Intervened

I should have had some more progress to post last night, but real life intervened. While we were walking our dogs last night my wife and both dogs were hit by a car. I was about ten feet behind them at the time, so I was spared completely.

Laura is banged up but she’s fine, she managed to completely smash the car’s windshield without sustaining serious injury. She’s a strong woman in more ways than one. One of the dogs escaped with only scrapes and bruises, the other wasn’t so lucky. He’s alive and doing fine, but there’s a good chance he’ll lose his leg. We just don’t know right now.

The kid who was driving was being reckless, but it was just a mistake, and he did the right thing and waited there for the police while we rushed the dogs to the emergency vet, and my wife to the ER. A police report has been filed, so we’ll see what happens there.

Needless to say, I haven’t gotten any work done since class yesterday. Everything is settled down and the worst is over, so I will make it to class tonight, but only because Laura is insisting.
